Welcome to the Coaching Column:
A New Practice Specialty

by John E. Glass, Ph.D.

Greetings! Welcome to the Coaching Column. This column was formerly entitled the Executive Coaching Column, but due to the explosive growth of the coaching profession, it seemed prudent to broaden the scope to include all different types of coaching. So, please feel free to ask questions about personal and/or professional coaching in general, as well as specific coaching specialities.

The questions in this column may be submitted by the columnist or by you, the reader. Not all questions will be used, but those that are, will be answered promptly. Some questions may be a composite of a number of submitted questions.

Since questions submitted do not provide the full contextual information needed to assess the realities referred to in the question, answers should be taken as suggestive rather than as definitive.

The columnist takes full responsibility for all answers; they do not necessarily represent the positions of the editor or other contributors.

The question for the up-coming column ends each column.
